Telekom Malaysia Sri Intan Hotel
I came to know that Telekom Malaysia owned a few hotels. The discount rate is very favourable for Telekom staff. However, the staff in MMU is not well informed about the hotels and most of the time when we call Sri Intan for booking we didn't get a favourable respond. In addition to that from my experience the telephone for hotel booking seems to be engaged most of the time Therefore, I decided to put up this information into the web for the benefit of MMU staff. I have uploaded all the information I knew into my personal website. Now, you are just one phone call away from a holiday. Hope you enjoy your holiday in Sri Intan hotels. Please feel e-mail me if you have anything.

Tips
Try to book early. As far as I know the booking starts on the 1st of each month.
If you didn't manage to call Thraisa, then try to call directly to the Resort you want to stay.
No cooking is allowed in TM Resorts (not sure about the Banglo).
As far as I know the rooms are fully booked during weekends, public holiday and school holidays.

As a MMU staff, I hope you can make full use of the discount given by TM Resort. Thank You.

Crime in Danau Kota

It was not a good way to start your Monday morning but today, on my way to office,I saw a murder victim all blanketed in black plastic lying by the road side. At first I thought he/she was an accident victim but there was no vehicle around him/her that appeared to be involved in the accident. All that I saw was policemen n police cars all around with a lot of curious passers by.I was on my way to Sarimah's ( my on and off babysitter) to drop some keropok lekor Anuar bought in Trengganu. She later told me that the mother of the victim came running to check on the victim before she went away on some car.Maybe they lived in the nearby rumah panjang

A shiver went down my spine, thinking that this happened barely 150 metres away from my home. I don't know when it happened exactly but Sarimah told me that it happened early that morning.I can imagine all the schoolchildren that passed by that way to school this morning, seeing the victim lying motionless by the roadside.

What is the world coming to?

Balik kampung

Wil put on a proper post when I have the time.In the meantime, just a recap.

Friday-had a meeting that started at 5.30pm and ended at 7.30pm.that really screwed up our plan to reach Karak Hiway by Maghrib.Reached home around 8.00pm.Kids are all dressed in their pyjamas n hubby in shirt n kain pelikat.Aikk...jadik ke tak balik kampung ni?
Hit the road around 10pm.
Reached Kuantan around 2.0am. Anuar reached for his brother's house keys at predetermined secret location. The tuan rumah were all asleep upstairs.Had to wake the Bibik though, since I couldn' find the comforter for baby Ariff.
Saturday.Had breakfast and ready to hit the road by 10am.Reached Ajil around 1.00pm,went over Anuar's friend's house.Sort of hit and run visit.Had to rush to the kenduri before all the gulai kawah are gone.
Reached Anuar's makcik's house around 2.00pm.She's marrying off her daughter, ateacher to another teacher, also a teacher.
Wow, ada pelamin....siap ada acara potong kek n salin2 baju for the pengantin. This is a vast difference from the previous kenduri kahwins that I had attended at the same house.Later, I heard that parents and siblings of the bride refused to tepung tawar the couple. They come a very religious Muslim family.I respect their decision.
Left the kenduri around 3.30pm, to go to Pasar Payang.Had to left early since mom in law said the pasar closes at 5.00pm.It took another good 45 mins to reach the pasar.
We reached the pasar around 4.15pm and found it be bustling.Well, it is the school holidays, and would be a shame if the traders decide to close shop early since they are a lot of outsiders coming to visit.
Bought 2 kaftans for me,a kaftan each for Bik n Aina, Batik blouse n pants for Anis, a pyjama for Aiman.Nothing for Ariff since he is too small to wear anything Batik.Anuar bought himself a shirt.I also bought some foodstuffs like dodol, sagun, keropok and loveletters.Anuar bought some mangoes.
We then left the pasar to find a mosque.Bathed the children n jamak n qasar my zohor n asar.
We had a detour to Pantai Batu Burok so that the children can see the kites n horses by the seaside.Anuar bought 2 kites or wau as the locals called it.
Then we found a foodstall bt the name Perindu Kuning.Aptly named, it is painted entirely in yellow n had yellow light all around. The udang celup tepung was quite good.Had meehoon tomyam whilst the children had mee sup n Anis finished up a whole plate of nasi goreng ayam by herself.
We reached Dungun around 9.45pm.In no time at all, all of us are fast asleep. It was nearly 10 hours on n off total travelling time.
Next day, Ariff had a fever.Mistook it for stomachache and kept rubbing his stomach with minyak afiat, hoping he will pass motion. His body is not that hot.I guess it is what people call pana dalam.Baba bought a digital thermometer to monitor his temperature.
The children went to the pantai with Baba. They have been pestering to fly the kites bought at Panta Batu Burok. Later, they went to a swimming pool at the local golf club.I stayed at home with Ariff. His temperature kept rising on and off.Had smothered him daun bunga raya n air asam jawa earlier on.
We had a multitude of dishes for dinner, compliments of Anuar's siblings. There's different types of nasi, satay, kuihs, keropok, yong tau foo n pizza.
Early Sunday morning, we had nasi dagang n nasi kunyit ( or pulut kuning) for breakfast.Different types of kuihs are also on the tables.
We left Dungun around 3.15pm and reached home around 10.15pm.
