KL International Tattoo 2007

13 countries partipated in the KL International Tattoo which is held in conjuction of 50th Merdeka celebration. The event was held for 3 nights from 7 to 9 September 2007 at Stadium Merdeka. We went there on the first night and it was full house. The surroundings was just magical with lots of fireworks and lighting display.
There were army personnel everywhere. One even volunteered to take pictures of me with Anis & Aiman.

Camping tent

Bought this tent yesterday at Ikea. Quite cheap. Enough to occupy the four of them for an hour or so. Enough time for me to update this blog.

There they are, the littlest one included, with pillows, blankets and all. Berangan tengah camping di tengah hutan belantara. Siap bawak choc chip cookies lagi. Mak, masa muda muda dulu, dah puas camping camping ni, takde pun pakai tent macam ni, but still survice. Takde choc chip cookies pun, only nenas dalam tin ration yang cukup lazat kalau dalam hutan and dimakan beramai ramai. Even maggi sebungkus boleh makan 4,5 orang and it tasted like heaven.

Don't know if my children can withstand those 'hardship' that I went through. And those 'hardship' yang buat mak wondering whether mak can go through the same experience and survive. Because along the years, I think I have became 'lembik', bukan macam masa muda muda dulu, tough giler. Sebut saja gunung mana tidak ku daki, lautan mana tidak ku tempuhi, sungai mana tidak ku redah, hutan belantara mana tidak ku diami...sekarang ni nyamuk seekor gigit time tengah sedap sedap tidur pun dah bising bising...

Anyway, let the little ones berangan first and maybe, just maybe, when they are a little older and mak (and baba) are up to it, we can plan for a real camping trip. Complete with tents, sleeping bags and all. Maybe one day....

Danga Bay

The children love to go to Danga Bay everytime we went back to my 'kampung' in JB. Danga Bay is this new recreation/family activity/retail/amusement/entertainment center/ development project set by the sea side of Selat Johor. It gets its name from the nearby Sungai Danga. In the old days, people living at Sungai Danga will the main town of JB by sampans. They landed at the nearest beach of Pantai Lido. I don't know nowadays whether they still do that or they can travel by road to get to town now.
The children love to get on the tram which will go through Danga Bay from end to the other end. Once, we went to see the Royal London Circus there but now the circus have moved somewhere. There's alot of things on sale at bazaar or at the airconditioned retail center. There is even replicas of Rumah Limas which the traditional house for Johor Malays.
Usually, the children will get the stuck at amusement center and the parents will get poorer by at least a few ringgits. It will normally be quite during the day so usually we went after lunch or after dinner. It is a nice place to bring your place , a new way to enjoy the beach side. So, do come and visit the next time you are in JB!
