Sedara mara London mari

Four of Anuar's long distant relatives came to visit us yesterday. These are Anuar' s another branch of the family tree which apparently has taken roots in the UK. I f you browsed my ealier entry, you will find one entry on Anuar's nephew, Kaptanmiah which came to Malaysia from London to visit.

These time round, 2 girls and 2 boys, age ranging from 19 to 26 years. Shefali, the eldest sister, together with brothers Mahbub and Foysol and youngest sister, Lepa took two weeks off their work to come to Malaysia.

Took them to Eyes on Malaysia and of course, the customary visit and photo taking session at KLCC. En route to KLCC, tooke them to Masjid India shooping area.

Here's some pics we took yesterday. Bang Long and Bani are their chaffeur and chaperone came along from Shah Alam and tagged along with us.

Nenek ustazah is moving away

Nenek ustazah Anis mengaji is moving away to Bangi. She organised a kenduri khatam Al Quran cum farewell, complete with nasheed, salawat and of course food. Attendees are mostly mothers of her students. She will be greatly missed as she is also makcik urut while I was in my confinement after delivering baby Ariff....Bye Nenek Zaleha, InsyaAllah, we'll meet again.

Happy 7th Anniversary

Happy Mother's Day

It was Mother's Day yesterday. As a rewards ( sort of) .I don't have to cook breakfast and lunch. Hubby went to Pasar Tani to buy breakfast and the week's ration of groceries. I baked butter cookies for the children. Hubby then brought us to celebrate Mother's Day . He said that he better do it today or I will later bring the matter up ( mengungkit) if he didn't appreciate/celebrate me. Very 'kind' of him to remember huh? BTW, her big sis SMSed him to remind him of the celebration.Later she checked with me whether I was celebrated upon.

Anyway, we went to the nearby Kenny Roger's as the children are quite full (huh?). But still they walloped all the spaghetti n mac n cheese and feasted on the ice cream ,which by the way, was meant for me. It is more of a celebration for them than for the mother. I think that is what exactly make a mother, they never think of themselves first but of their children.

I don't expect bouquets of flowers or big glossy greeting cards. I just want all my 4 children to grow up as good Moslems. Respect the elders. Do their best in study. Be healthy.

That is all my wish, as a mother.

So to all mother out ther, Happy Mother's Day. now, when is Father's Day.....have to set aside some budget for the daddy....

Langkawi...Here We Come!

Went to Langkawi with the whole brood for 4 days and 3 nights. Stayed at TM Resort throughout the stay,which is within jogging distance to Awana Porto Malai ( refer to map).Did some shopping,well a lot of shopping actually.Anis complained that she only want to go the bird park and cable cars, instead of being dragged around all over the island.Here's some pics of the vacation.

Kek Kembang Setaman

Baked a cake recently. With icing on top.Been years since I last baked a cake.Lot of years, in fact. And with icing on top? I think the last time I did that was when I was helping my mom baking to send to her relatives for Raya.Phew...that must be hundreds of years ago.Nowadays, she usually heads to the nearest Pasar tani Raya for her supplies oh kuih raya and cakes. Me too.

The children thought it must have been of their's birthdays. Well, I have to put the fact straight.Mak can also baked, you know.Other than Secret Recipe, other people also can bake.

Am not creative and never been since my school days.So I ended decorating the cake with flower garden.Hence, the name Kek Kembang Setaman i.e. Garden of Flowers Cake.It just an instant mix basic butter cake with icing.Anis commented the icing is too sweet.Jaga ko, esok besar Mak nak rasa Anis lak masak.....
