My twins just turned 3 two days ago i.e. on the 6th of February 2007. I still remembered vividly that day approximately three years ago. I have fasted from midnight . My last meal was some buns Nuar bought from a convenience store in Kg. Baru.Anis had gobbled up all my hospital dinner. That girl really enjoys hospital food from any type of hospital, government or private on the condition that she is not the sick patient.
I was the second patient ( eh, ye ke patient, i'm not sick,i'm just pregnant!) to be c-secd that day.My trusted gynae, Dr Nazri purportedly put me in second so that he did not have to brave the traffic to get to the hospital early. My parents and mom in law arrived early that morning with Anuar. After I was wheeled into the OT, they left for home in a cab as Anuar stayed back at the hospital.
It was quite an event. The OT was full with anaesthiologist, nurses and medical assisatants. They formed 4 teams, 2 teams for me and 2 teams for the babies. The teams for the babies has prepared different cots for the expected twins arrival. The two teams for me was one, to administer and monitor the epidural and another team to well, cut me open.
Aina Shafiah came out first so she have to be the 'kakak' although nowadays it seemed to me that Aiman is the more mature one. Aiman Hakim came out a minute later. The OT was now full of wails and cries of the babies.
I was stitched up remain groggy for several hours.I don't know what happened to babies after they were shown to me for a brief minute.
They had to stayed at PICU for several hours and lated transferred to the nursery. On the third day, one of babies was brought to my room and the next day, another baby came. I can't remember who came first. But all I knew was both my babies were safe and sound.Anuar spent his time mostly near the nursery.
We went home on the 5th day.My aunties arrived from Trengganu to share our joys. The sleepless nights (and days) followed soon after.
The twins now attend a playschool at Taska Impian Manja. Aina is now so into Barbie while Aiman is obsessed with all the superheroes of the world including our local CicakMan.Aina loves everything pink and feminine although her wailing sounded more like tarzan. Aiman loves all the things boys stuff like cars, balls, guns( I never bought him one, he just saw it on TV) but is scared of cockroaches and mice ( which shared our home).
Now that they have another younger brother, Ariff, they are no longer babies in the family. Together with big sister Anis, these 4 really changes my life. May all of you grow up to be muslim and muslimah yang sejati, selamat dunia akhirat, InsyaAllah.
Happy Birthday again, twins!
